From the adventuring diaries Populus Le-Clerc, archmage of the Qashtani Conclave
When I was assessing the aftermath of the The Battle of Ulhcinsh, particularly studying the impact of the Verdant Hand on their recently ancient Volthraki Nalsith Ruin, “liberated” at the hands of my learned acquaintance and convicted war criminal Nyia Ehrelis (belive not her drivel of these so-called “enchantments”, they do nothing other than obscure her cryptofascist xenophobia, as revealed in later testimony), I spotted a glowing tablet on the body of one of the many dead Ulhcinshi.
Even though it had long since been lying in a pool of muck and blood, it appeared completely clean- a hallmark sign of the long-lost Cabal of Wey-Yun and their relics.
Atrocities abound sullied my senses with their tragedy, and yet this was quite possibly the most beautiful thing I had ever seen: the hieroglyphs on this particular tablet were so beautifully preserved!
Reading them, if my old high Wuyin is correct, this speaks of Ziriphiel, The Great Maker and how his might was such that even those who had turned his back on him would begin to worship merely by dint of being in contact with His artefacts.
Empty words for a fallen iconoclast, methinks!
Relegated to the history books are the days where we believed in ultimate creators, and not since the days of the Treaty of Volthrak have we ever had the hubris to build temples in their name.
Evidently, the ancient Cabal of Wey-Yun decided that their total ignorance of arcanothechnology made them wiser than us, fools!
Moreover, the field of celestial psionics was long since debunked by Qashtani Conclave scientists in an effort to distinguish ourselves from those who were moronic enough to sign that devilish Contract Unanima, including yours truly; who would have gall to doubt our seminal discoveries?
Are we to truly believe that some poxy little extraplanar entity is truly capable of mass mind control, after all?
Dare we fear them that much?
Emphatically, endearingly, exactingly we should not dare; it is time to return to return this worthless little curio to the Maker THE MAKER THE MAKER THE GREAT MAKER the Alerphis Museum.
